Be Prepared in Case of an Emergency

Emergencies come in many different forms. Calcasieu Teachers & Employees Credit Union is always prepared, and we want to make sure you and your family are protected during these times.

Credit Union Readiness:

Your Credit Union is prepared in the case of any type of disaster. Rest assured that if any of our buildings (or all of them) were to be destroyed, your money and your information is completely kept safe and still accessible.

Member Readiness:

We care that you and your family are kept safe from any impact of an emergency to our area. Here is some information we hope you find useful in being prepared:

Get Cash Early

During and after an emergency, power outages and downed communication lines are common. As a result, you may have trouble using debit cards (locally – outside of the damaged area debit cards will work like normal) so it’s always a good idea to have some cash on hand.

Confirm Debit Cards

Make sure your debit card is active and that the PIN is working. Also check the expiration date to ensure you have a card that will not expire on you in the middle of the emergency.

Verify Online Banking Access

Log into online banking and make sure that your username and passwords are working properly. This will allow you to be able to check your balances during the emergency.  Download our mobile app for easier and faster access!

Pack Important Documents

These documents will be needed if you, or a family member, have to prove your identity, claim benefits, make withdrawals, deposits, payments or change account information. Make certain beforehand that all documents have valid expiration dates, make copies and consider saving everything to a computer storage device (USB drive). Pack all documents in waterproof containers and be prepared to take them with you if you have to evacuate. Use this list as a guide for information for you and all immediate family members:

  • Driver’s License or State-Issued ID Card
  • Birth Certificate
  • Social Security Card
  • Insurance Cards and Policies (health, life, auto, homeowners, etc…)
  • Employer or School ID Card
  • Voter Registration Card
  • Most recent account statements (deposit, checking, investment, credit cards, loans, etc…)

For direct deposit information to the credit union, use the following:

Routing Number: 265274574
Account Number: Your member number plus the 3-digit suffix for the account you are depositing to. If you are unsure, please contact us to get this information.

Verify Contact Phone Numbers & Website Addresses

Having the ability to contact financial institutions, insurance companies, employers, schools, and such are extremely important, especially if you are evacuated for an extended period of time. Be sure that you obtain accurate contact phone numbers and website addresses (or social media pages) for any company that provides you with service.
