1. An initial deposit of $5 is required to maintain the minor’s membership in the credit union. All members must maintain a $5 balance in their savings account to remain a member and demonstrate regular activity in their account to keep it open. Dormancy fees may apply after no activity for two (2) years. Minor Savings is a LA UTMA account where a guardian (or custodian) maintains full control of the account until the child turns 18 at which point the guardian must give the child control of the funds in the account.
2. You must maintain a minimum $200 balance in order to earn dividends.
