New Core = New Possibilities

What is a core conversion?

The core processing system, traditionally referred to as “the core,” is the centralized system that manages our major banking functions and maintains all information about your accounts. Converting to a new core system requires a lot of planning and preparation.

We are upgrading our core to better serve our members by improving our services, efficiency and to accommodate for growth.

The new core offers more capabilities to benefit members such as:
• Upgraded online & mobile banking experience
• Self-service options with new account creation


The core conversion will take place beginning on Friday, March 31 at 2:00pm and continue through the weekend in order to minimize the effects on members. The dates below highlight the most important things to keep in mind during the conversion process.


9:00am – 4:30pm

We recommend members take care of all necessary financial matters and get cash prior to the conversion taking place.

Debit card limits may be impacted during the conversion. Please plan accordingly.

FRIDAY, MARCH 31, 2023


All branches will close at 2:00pm to begin the conversion process and will remain closed until Monday, April 3 at 9:00am.

Digital banking services via the mobile app and website will become unavailable and will automatically log users out at 2:00pm.



All branches will reopen with the new core in place and all staff will be ready to assist members with new services and functionality.

CalTeachersCU.com and our new mobile app will launch for members to continue banking online.

What’s NOT changing?

Member Numbers

Your member number will remain the same, and you do not need to do anything. However, the suffix of your individual accounts may change.

Debit Cards

Your debit card number will not change and will remain active throughout the conversion process. However, limits may be in place. Plan accordingly and have cash on hand during the conversion.

Direct Deposit

You will not need to make any changes if you have direct deposits set up with any of your accounts. All direct deposits and transfers will continue without interruption.

Bill Pay

There will be no changes to your current Bill Pay settings. All payments scheduled during the conversion period will be sent in accordance with their scheduled date.


There will be no impacts to your current check books.

Routing Number

Our routing number will not change. Our ABA Routing Number is: 265274574

Branch Hours

Lobby and drive-thru hours at each branch will remain the same after the conversion, but some hours will be affected during the conversion process.

What IS changing?

Digital Banking

We are launching a new digital banking platform with this core conversion. The new platform offers a simple, fresh look and a variety of enhanced features including:

  • Mobile deposit
  • P2P (Person-to-Person) transfers
  • Visibility and control of your accounts from one dashboard
  • Advanced alerts & notifications
  • Framework for future enhancements

Username / Password

All members will need to enroll in the new digital banking platform online at CalTeachersCU.com beginning on Monday, April 3, 2023. This process will establish your new username and password for your digital banking account. The process is simple:

  • Click the “Online Banking Login” button
  • Click “Register” to create your account
  • Follow the on-screen prompts

Account Suffix

You may notice that your account suffix numbers change, however, there is nothing you need to do. All ACH transfers, direct deposits, etc. will remain intact. You may notice the suffix number changes on your statements and in your digital banking platforms.


Your statements will continue to be delivered to you in the way you currently receive them whether through the mail or through online, e-statements. The look and feel, however, will update with your April statements scheduled for delivery in early May.

Mobile Banking

We are launching a new mobile app for iOS and Android users with many enhanced features. Download the new app from the App Store or Google Play Store. The app will be available for download beginning on Monday, April 3, 2023. A download link will be provided on our website.

Telephone Banking

There will be some minor changes to our telephone banking system. There will be a new menu structure and a new phone number. The new number is (866) 414-2801 and will activate on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 9:00am.

Debit Card Roundup

There will be some minor changes to the way the debit card roundup program works. If you are currently enrolled in this program, your round-ups will now transfer to a new account called “Debit Card Roundup.” You will see this account in your new digital banking platform and on your account statements.

You can then set up additional automatic transfers from your Debit Card Roundup account to a Christmas Club or other savings account on a routine schedule.

Transaction History

Your transaction history for the previous 12 months will be stored and accessible through e-statements within the digital banking platform. E-statements can be found on the home page of your online banking account. New transactions will begin populating in your account history on Monday, April 3, 2023.

We are excited about the future of Calcasieu Teachers & Employees Credit Union! In 2022 we grew in many ways and 2023 will be no different. Many of you are already aware that in 2023 we will be moving into our brand-new main office facility located at 1690 E McNeese Street. The new year will also be bringing us to what this guide is all about and that is some exciting changes so that we can better serve you and provide you with an advanced member banking experience!

In keeping with our core value of Pursuing Excellence, on March 31, 2023, the credit union will be converting to a new core operating system. This conversion process began over two years ago as we researched various systems that would allow us to have better service integration and more streamlined processes.

Like any computer or electronic you own, changes in technology continue to accelerate. Our current system is like a flip phone compared to what is available today. While the phone still works, and we have made it work over the years, our current operating system limits our ability to deliver new and emerging banking products and services. After we convert, we can provide a progressive banking experience to our membership and will have the technology to enhance our banking products and services.

A core system upgrade is the most complex project a financial institution can undertake. Our staff and dedicated core conversion team have worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption to member service. Additionally, we have increased staff and reallocated resources to better serve our members before and after the conversion.

Please take a moment to read through this guide so that you will be familiar with the timeline and changes that will be occurring. While most changes will happen behind the scenes, there will be a few changes to how we do business and some brief disruption of services.
